Clearcoat Do Over Question

So yesterday I was clear coating over my newly painted hood when I started to have equipment problems. I have since found and corrected those issues. But because of the issues it left my cc with lots of little pock marks. I tried sanding them and buffing to no avail. I decided it may be best just to redo the cc. Can I just sand out the bad clear (entire hood) with 800 grit and re cc or do I have to do something else? I really don’t want to start all over again with redoing bc/cc if I don’t have to. It’s the underside of the hood so it doesn’t have to be perfect, but I don’t want it looking like crap either. Any help is greatly appreciated.

As far as I know you can only sand out the cc except if your marks still appear after sanding the cc then I would suggest you do all over.
